Sofia Novelli was born in Prato on April 25, 1991. She studied at the Leon Battista Alberti Art School in Florence, graduating in 2010. She then enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where she graduated with honors in the three-year program in painting in October 2013.
She subsequently began her studies at the Sacred Art School in Florence, where she completed the first year of sacred art and crafts, then continued with the two-year master's program in sacred painting, under the guidance of Spanish painter and teacher Ignacio Valdés, graduating in June 2016 with honors.
In the same year, she began her work as assistant and then painting teacher for the same institute in the three-year program and, later, for the Master's program in Sacred Art, also organized and promoted by the Sacred Art School, in collaboration with IUL, the Online University of Florence. She currently teaches sacred painting at the Sacred Art School.
In 2019, she won a national competition to paint a large-format painting for the Police school in Florence.
Since beginning her career as a painter in 2015, she has created sacred artwork for churches, oratories, and private chapels, primarily in Italy. Her religious-themed works are also present in Spain, Japan, and the United States. She has also collaborated in the workshop of the painter Ignacio Valdés on important commissions for Spain, Nigeria, Congo, and South Africa.
